Réka Shikli is a Hungarian-Canadian writer, director, producer, and actor. She studied English, French, and philosophy at the University of Victoria and also studied acting at the Screen Actors Studio in Victoria, BC, and the Ivana Chubbuck Studio in Los Angeles.

Her screenplay for her first short film, The Man on the Bus, was a finalist in the 2020 WeScreenplay Shorts Contest, the 2021 Vesuvius International Film Festival, and the 2021 4th Dimension Independent Film Festival. She filmed her first two shorts in 2022 and was accepted into the Directing Actors program through the Sundance Institute in January 2023. Her second short film, Disquiet, recently premiered at the International Mobile Film Festival in San Diego, and her third short film, Chicken Soup for the Socially Awkward, was made as part of the Run ‘N Gun 48 hour Film Competition and Festival. The script for her fourth short film, Deadbolt, was a semi-finalist in the 2024 TSL Free Screenplay Contest, putting it in the top 1.6% out of over 15,000 scripts.
